AIRBOURNE
- RUNNIN' WILD
Review
of Gibson Sg
Everybody
knows that the Australian Rock ‘N’ Roll has always
been a source of big names and how it made itself
conspicuous by its attachment of Rock ‘N’ Roll
roots, but stronger and powerful than in any other
place. Also in these years, so far from the ‘70’s,
musicians have been run away from Australia and
they had get themselves talked about all around
the World. As Jet and Wolfmother, two rough and
heavy bands with strong recall to the “tradition”,
in other words AC/DC the masters of this genre.
Everything
born navigating on Internet, a day it took us
on the myspace web of Airbourne, a young band
from Melbourne (its components are from 18 to
22 years old).
The
track available for listening was “Running Wild”.
A big surprise right away! A Hard Rock band, tight
rhythm, powerful and rough guitars sound and a
loud voice. The track is a real “manifest” of
what the Hard Rock is, represents and has to represent.
We suggest you to go and check it out! (www.myspace.com/airbournerock)
At
that moment the temptation was hard…. contacting
the band’s management and asking if was possible
to get a promo of the album… done! Power of AC/DC
Italia! We are very proud to be the first ones
in Italy to had contact the band and that’s the
reason of our review.
The
album is exactly as I was hoping: a concentrate
of inspired and powerful tracks one after another
without taking a breath. Airbourne shows to have
listened to the right records and to have absorbed
the spirit and the charisma of them, creating
their own style.

The
comparison with AC/DC is obviously inevitable:
they are their main source of inspiration, we
all can feel it and taste it. This CD is recommended
to not only the Young & Co. fans but to every
hard rockers who are looking for something that…
kick ass!
Beside
“running wild” in preview on myspace the pearls
of the album are “stand up for rock ‘n’ roll”
that open the album, “girls in black” and “blackjack”
very good tracks played in a classic rock style
without being the ugly copy of other track listened
around.There
are also few AC/DC style tracks like “fat city”
(great track!), “what’s eating you” and “cheap
wine”. We give a mention of honour to “heartbreaker”,
which we admit is what we would like to listen
in the next AC/DC album.
We like Airbourne for this too, they play with
energy, anger and “joye de vivre” very remarkable.

We
are proud to have written this review. Airbourne
is a band to follow, certainly a positive signal
of generation’s change, where Hard Rock is not
only for the “old mates” but it can sometimes
renew itself with an expressive non-common energy.
